WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
I WAS WITH YOU ALL DAY AND NEVER SAW IT, BUT
YEARS LATER WHEN I LOOKED AT THIS PICTURE
ON MY WALL, THERE IT WAS. I'VE BEEN WATCHING FOR IT - EXCPECTING
IT REALLY. THERE ARE THOSE MOMENTS IN EVERY CHILD'S
LIFE WHEN YOU SEE THE FUTURE - THAT CHANGE FROM ONE STAGE IN LIFE
TO ANOTHER NOT MEASURED BY CALENDAR DAYS.
SO WHEN I LOOKED INTO YOUR FACE GAZING BACK
AT ME ON THE WALL, I WAS STRUCK BY THE YOUNG LADY
I SAW EMERGING THERE! PERHAPS ENOUGH OF THE
LITTLE GIRL REMAINS TO DISGUISE IT IN PERSON, BUT IT IS
APPARENT TO ME IN THIS PICTURE. I KNEW IT WOULD
HAPPEN SOON.....I JUST DIDN'T KNOW

Oh Lori...This a beautiful blog! I am not as far as you are into this oldest child and their transitions thing...but let me tell you I just had a similar realization with my Hannah this week. She turned 13 Sunday and at some point between then and yesterday as I was watching the beautiful new teen in front of me I realzied..."oh my we just emerged into a whole new stage in this journey" and it was a very "BITTERSWEET" feeling to say the least. It goes so fast and I know I fall so short as a parent and I just hope that by the time her and I are at your stage it will all even out in the wash and I will have few regrets. These girls of our are so amazing (well the boys too), but they are so precous...a gift we will cherish FOREVER!
Dearest Chandra.....I know right!!! You dont fall short girl! Dont't let the devil tell you that lie! Enjoy every precious second....don't worry about house...errands...this and that...you just have to cherish the moments! You are a great Mom!! :) Lori
